James is a Senior Patent Attorney at Ofinno, focused on developing and prosecuting the company’s patent portfolio in IEEE-related technologies, including the IEEE 802.11 family of standards.
Prior to joining Ofinno, James spent over a decade in private practice, dividing his time between an IP boutique, where he handled patent preparation and prosecution, and an international law firm, where he focused on patent litigation and dispute resolution.
Early in his legal career, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Todd M. Hughes at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and prior to law school, he worked as a software engineer for a neuroscience-focused educational software company. James earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley and his J.D. from Columbia Law School.
