Pavan Kumar Mangipudi is a Senior Engineer at Ofinno, focusing on next-generation IEEE 802.11 PHY/MAC innovation and standardization. His work centers on inventing and evaluating technologies for upcoming Wi-Fi generations (including IEEE 802.11bn, IEEE 802.11bq and future generations), with interests spanning wireless communications, wireless networking, and AI/ML-driven optimization of wireless systems.
Prior to joining Ofinno, Pavan held research internships at InterDigital, CableLabs, and Futurewei Technologies, where he contributed to the development and analysis of PHY/MAC innovations and AI/ML-based optimization for Wi-Fi and cellular systems, leading to patentable inventions.
He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, where he developed cross-layer mobility management for wireless and cellular systems and AI/ML-driven methods for wireless network optimization. His doctoral work resulted in publications in IEEE journals and conferences, as well as patents. He also served as an instructor of record for multiple wireless communications and wireless networking courses.
