Stephen joined Ofinno in June 2025; he works on developing novel methods for 3D Gaussian splat compression within the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG).
He recently earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa, where his research focused on 3D compression, streaming, and reconstruction for immersive telepresence.
