Ryan’s research focuses on energy-efficient 6G networks, positioning, and ambient IoT. He is named on over 300 patents, both granted and pending, and has been an active 3GPP RAN1 delegate since 2018, including serving as feature lead for enhanced positioning during Release-17.
He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
