Jiayi focuses on next-generation Wi-Fi standards and technologies at Ofinno. He serves as a voting member of the IEEE 802.11 Working Group for WLAN standards and a delegate in Task Group bf/bn. His research centers on air-interface algorithms, protocols, and signaling for wireless standards, with expertise in both IEEE 802.11 WLAN PHY/MAC and 3GPP LTE/5G NR RAN1.
Prior to his time at Ofinno, Jiayi was a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD, and a research scientist at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs (now Nokia Bell Labs) in Shanghai.
Jiayi earned his Ph.D. in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2012 and is a senior member of IEEE, IEEE Communications Society, and IEEE Standards Association.
