Muhammad is currently a RAN1 delegate driving several 5G advanced and 6G topics. His research interest includes artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) techniques for mobile communications, immersive communication, subband non-overlapping full duplex (SBFD), network and UE energy saving techniques, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), ambient internet of things (IoT), and positioning for 5G advance/6G systems. Prior to joining Ofinno 6G Innovation Lab, Muhammad was a Principal Researcher at Ericsson Research. While at Ericsson, he attended 3GPP RAN4 from 2003 to 2023 and 3GPP RAN from 2007 to 2023. He has been granted over 600 US patents. He obtained his Master’s and Ph.D from Télécom Paris, France in mobile communications in 1997 and 2001, respectively.
