Silas has been researching low-latency communications in wireless networks since 2014. Before joining Ofinno, he worked at Qualcomm on 5G/6G R&D, focusing on D2D communications for Industrial IoT and mmWave network deployment. He is an inventor on more than 60 U.S. patents in wireless communications.
Silas has also conducted postdoctoral research at Cornell University, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Toronto, publishing 25 journal articles in information theory and network coding. He holds B.Eng, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
