Silas has conducted research on low-latency communications in wireless networks since 2014. Prior to joining Ofinno, Silas has carried out 5G/6G R&D studies at Qualcomm on D2D communications for Industrial IoT and mmWave network deployment. He is an inventor of more than 60 US patents on wireless communications. In addition, he has performed postdoctoral researches at Cornell University, National University of Singapore (NUS) and University of Toronto, and published 25 journal articles in the areas of information theory and network coding. He received his B.Eng, M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Information Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2005, 2007, and 2011 respectively.
