Recognition based on Patent Asset Index methodology reflects sustained improvement in patent portfolio quality across 5G/6G, Wi-Fi, and media compression technologies
RESTON, VA — March 4, 2026 — Ofinno, a research and development lab specializing in wireless communication and media compression standards, today announced that it has been named one of the LexisNexis® Top 100 Global Innovators for 2026. This marks the fifth consecutive year Ofinno has been selected for the list, which recognizes companies around the world that are driving innovation in the global economy based on exceptional shifts in patent portfolio quality.
The Top 100 Global Innovators were identified by LexisNexis® Intellectual Property Solutions through an analysis of nearly 16 million global patent families using its Patent Asset Index methodology. Unlike rankings based on patent volume, the Top 100 list measures the strength and quality of a company’s patent assets — tracking how frequently patents are cited by later innovations and how broadly they are protected across international jurisdictions. Companies are selected based on exceptional improvement in portfolio quality over the preceding two years.
Ofinno’s inclusion for a fifth consecutive year reflects the sustained quality of its research output across 5G/6G cellular technology, next-generation Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11), and advanced media compression (MPEG/JVET). The company’s researchers are active delegates at major international standards bodies including 3GPP, IEEE, and MPEG, and its patent portfolio is concentrated in the core technical areas of these standards.
“Being recognized as a Top 100 Global Innovator for the fifth year in a row is a reflection of the consistency and quality of the research happening across all three of our labs,” said Kavon Nasabzadeh, CEO of Ofinno. “Our team is focused on the hardest problems in connectivity standards — 5G and 6G, next-generation Wi-Fi, and media compression — and this recognition confirms that the work they’re doing is among the most impactful in the world. It’s a credit to every inventor, researcher, and attorney at Ofinno.”
“Ofinno’s five consecutive years on the Top 100 Global Innovators list is a tremendous accomplishment and even more noteworthy given the global technology giants with whom it shares the honor,” said Marco Richter, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer for LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions. “Year after year, Ofinno demonstrates that focused, high-quality intellectual property can create strategic relevance that rivals even the largest players in the global innovation economy. Sustaining that high-level performance for five straight years proves that in innovation, quality matters as much as scale.”
The Top 100 Global Innovators list was released as part of the Innovation Momentum 2026: The Global Top 100 report, which explores global innovation trends across industries and geographies. The full report is available at https://www.lexisnexisip.com/most-innovative-companies-2026/.
