SungDuck Chun

Research Manager, Senior Principal Engineer

SungDuck has been active in 3GPP standardization since 2003, contributing to working groups SA1, RAN2, SA2, and SA3. He has played a key role in radio architecture and protocol design for HSxPA and LTE, as well as defining system and service requirements for 5G. He has served as rapporteur for several 3GPP work items, including eV2X, MINT, EASNS, and V2XIMP, and has participated in ETSI and 5GAA standardization, receiving the 5GAA Best Contributor Award in 2018.

Before joining Ofinno, SungDuck help a chief research engineer position for standardization and was also a manager of business development at LG Electronics. He is named on over 750 granted U.S. patents and focuses his research on system architecture and communication protocols for 5G and 6G.

He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.
