Mrugen works on the development of standards and technologies for next-generation Wi-Fi systems at Ofinno. As a voting member of the IEEE 802.11 Working Group, he actively contributes to the evolution of Wi-Fi standards. His research interests include protocol design (PHY and MAC layer) and application of AI/ML for future wireless standards. Prior to joining Ofinno, he worked as an intern at InterDigital where he co-authored several publications, contributions and patents focusing on the IEEE Wi-Fi standards.
He received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University. He has co-authored several conference and journal papers, served as a reviewer and contributed to the technical program committees of major IEEE conferences and journals.
