Mrugen focuses on developing standards and technologies for next-generation Wi-Fi systems at Ofinno. As a voting member of the IEEE 802.11 Working Group, he actively contributes to the evolution of Wi-Fi standards. His research interests include protocol design at the PHY and MAC layers and applying AI/ML to future wireless technologies.

Before joining Ofinno, Mrugen interned at InterDigital, where he co-authored publications, patents, and contributions related to IEEE Wi-Fi standards. He has also co-authored several journal and conference papers while serving on IEEE technical program committees.

He received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University,
